Nizamabad Travel Guide


Nizamabad was formed in 1905 and was known as Indhrapuri or Indhur. Nizamabad District is divided into Three Revenue Divisions. Nizamabad, Kamareddy and Bodhan are further divided into 36 mandals. Nizamabad district surrounded by Karimnagar, Medak, Nandhedu,in Maharastra state and Adilabad in the East, South, West and North directions respectively. It is located at a substantial distance from the Sea coast. Agriculture is the backbone of the district's economy. Main crops grown are paddy,Sugarcane, Maize, Turmeric, Cotton, Groundnut, Sunflower and pulses etc. Forest is one the natural resources of this district. The district has a number of well-planned irrigation systems. These are Nizamsagar, Sree Ram Sagar, Pocharam, Ramadugu and Nallavagu.
