Gooty Fort
It is one of the oldest citadels of Andhra. Situated at the mandal headquarters of Gooty, about 45 km from Ananthapur this ancient fort has been in place right from the period of Ashoka to the later British changing numerous hands in the meanwhile. This mammoth fort resembles a shell in its composure and has 15 parts with 15 gates. A prudent master-plan behind its construction is explicit to be self-dependent in all respect including of water.
